Holiday Gift Guide for Seniors in Assisted Living or Memory Support

The Cabana at Jensen Dunes – Assisted Living and Memory Support community on the Treasure Coast serving the Jensen Beach, Stuart and Port St. Lucie areas.

Stumped on what to get Mom and Dad for the holidays? Not to worry. We put together a list of our top gifts that are perfect for your parent living in an Assisted Living or Memory Support community.

  • Puzzles. They are fun, engaging and keep the mind sharp! Look for puzzles that align with your parents’ interests. Do they love vintage cars? Are they a fan of Thomas Kinkade? If they have a vision limitation or are in memory support, larger format puzzles might be a good option.
  • Digital picture frame. Why give just one framed photo, when you can give hundreds? Pre-load the photos and set it up in your parents’ residence for them to enjoy year-round.
  • Books. Whether your parents are fans of the classics or newer releases, books make great, easy gifts. And, reading keeps the brain engaged and active. You can check the New York Times Best Sellers list at any time online.
  • Time. Perhaps the best gift you can give your loved one is the gift of time. Make it a priority to visit them often, not just during the holiday season. Go on a walk, take them to their favorite local lunch spot, or simply sit and catch up on what they’ve been up to.

… and one of the best ways to spend time with your parent this holiday season is at our third annual Festival of Trees Open House event on Wednesday, December 19 from 4-6 p.m. Give us a call at 772-332-1000 to RSVP.
